June 1st 2010 Well, May has been & gone & we still have hard hat wearing contractors in our Studio!!!(How very dare they?) So much for a May opening then! Still, never fear Minxy people we are still going ahead with our training dates although the venues may differ! We will keep you posted on our opening date as soon as WE know, in fact you may well hear us singing from the rooftops in a joyous chorus! (Yes, we are all getting a little bit stir crazy here at Minx HQ!) But still, some good news to tell you is that Leigh was interviewed & featured for this months Metal Clay Academy Newsletter which has been well received as we have already had Workshop enquiries coming our way. *********************************************************************** September 12th 2009 Well things are moving along nicely at the new premises, we currently have the Sandblasters in doing their thing (making a big mess!) If all goes to plan it looks like the building will be opening at the end of May 2010 so I am busily working on all the arrangements for 'Go-Live' We will be housed in a lovely new Studio with both Workshop & Retail space in the 'Creative Hinckley' building (formerly known as the Goddard Building, a lovely 19th Century Knitwear Factory that will be refurbished to the highest specification & YES disables access will be in place. Looking at the plans it is going to be beautiful & right next to the new Warwickshire Art College that is currently being built. We will have a Gallery, a shop & a Cafe all downstairs so everything we need will be on-site, bliss!!!! I also will have BIG news (soon to be announced) regarding our Teaching Status, so watch this space!!!! Finally, I have given up my career as a Web designer (mainly because I was rubbish!)as Magick Minx Productions clearly now need an all singing all dancing web presence so our Website is being completely redesigned. Thanks to you all for your ongoing support, it is very much appreciated. Leigh x *********************************************************************** JUNE 23rd 2009 I know I'm absolutely rubbish updating this www, please forgive me, I promise to get the camera working properly soon! I thought I'd add some important news: Firsty we are a big step forward in getting our permanent Teaching studio set-up, fingers crossed Magick Minx Productions will be housed in the fantastic Creative Hinckly project located in (not surprisingly) The old Goddard building in Hinckly. This is an amazing project where the Leicestershire Arts Council are redeveloping a lovely old factory to house a Gallery, Shop, Cafe, Music Studio, Dance Studio & smaller studios for local artists & this is where we will be located. The bad news is we are probably looking at Creative Hinckley being opened in April/May 2010, the good news however is that my lovely friend Terry West has kindly agreed to Host Magick Minx Trainings in the beautiful room he has converted in the back of his carpet warehouse in Hinckley. A strange location it may be for Precious Metal Clay but it is a lovely spacious room with excellent amenities nearby. Secondly - NEW 2009 TRAINING DATES WILL BE ADDED BY THE END OF JUNE!!! I can't keep up with you lot, as soon as I add some dates they are fully booked! You are all brilliantly supporting of Magick Minx & for that we thank you greatly! Finally - Milbanke Cottage Refirbishments are now complete! Hurah! So 1-1 Training Dates & Studio Hire dates here in Kirkby Mallory are now available! Crikey, if we're not careful we'll be organised! Hope 2009 is shaping up for you all xxxxx ********************************************************************** 8th December 2008 Well, how busy have we been!?? October came & went yet still the plaster dust continues! We are almost there now here at Milbanke Cottage but let's just say I won't be in a hurry to repeat a property refurbishment again in the future!! We have had some fabulous classes running over the last few months, both Magick Minx & RedHotMinx, a big thankyou to all of my Students who make 'working' as the Minx such a pleasure. RedHotMinx attended the Big Bead Fair this year, which for me was a first & fun day, I managed to speak to lots of people, some of which I have chatted to already on the frit-happens forum. During this day out RedHotMinx were approached by Bead TV to do some presentations to be broadcast on their internet channel next year so watch this space! We are currently organising our 2009 Teaching Schedule which when confirmed will be posted as a matter of urgency as we are receiving numerous enquiries for new class dates, fear not, it won't be long. We are planning on organising our Student Gallery for the New Year so please do send us photographs of your masterpieces. As Christmas is looming we would like to say Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to everybody, may it prove to be a good one for you all! ********************************************************************** We are currently undergoing complete refurbishment here at our lovely cottage in Kirkby Mallory so other than 1-1's, update skill training & dates already agreed (& full) we will not be undertaking any further workshops until October 2008. During a very hectic day I was lucky enough to receive an award for third prize in the PMC Studio National Design Competition, so lots of Champagne & photos!
